About Mongoose
Founded in 1974 in a Southern California garage, Mongoose has always been an innovator. From the company's initial cast-magnesium MotoMag wheels to its current crop of BMX, mountain, and pavement bikes, the Mongoose name has been synonymous with bicycle performance. Mongoose builds specifically for riders, which is why the company's BMX designers aren't wasting time watching reruns on ESPN2. Instead, they're constantly testing their new designs at the park, on the track, and on the hill. This continuous experimentation is what drives Mongoose to cook up things like the Front Porch head tube, which lets you fine-tune the handling on Black Diamond series mountain bikes, or Freedrive suspension technology, which eliminates pedal bob and provides a super-efficient full suspension. Mongoose bikes don't just push the limits; they set new ones.

Good budget bike for average rider
By S. Peters
All-in-all, I am pleased with this purchase.
This is the first bike I've purchased as an adult. It was easy enough to assemble and it has been a smooth ride. I've only taken it about 30 miles so far, so I am not sure how it will handle in the long run but from the first 30 miles I am not anticipating any issues. My main complaint would be that the areas where the welding was done are very visible and sloppy. This was the reason for only 4 stars. If you're concerned about this, I wouldn't purchase the bike.
The water bottle cage mount is on the bottom of the bottom tube. I've since ordered this water bottle cage, which fit great. Bicycle Carbon looking Aluminum Bottle Cage, CARBON LOOK

bad choice.!!
By Frank
Bike showed up with a broken gear system. The inside box was damaged but the outer box was new. And i usually always like all Shimano products. I thank someone had it before me.
